claude-profiles
Several Claude accounts side by side on one Mac: Claude Desktop and Claude Code, each with its own sign-in and its own Dock icon.
- lines of bash

- profiles, no special cases

I pay for a personal and a work Claude subscription and wanted both open at once, with icons I can tell apart at a glance. The hard part was keeping a custom icon alive through Claude’s self-updates: macOS App Management blocks a background job from touching the app bundle.
claude-profiles works around it by letting only the Dock launcher create and change the profile’s copy of Claude. When you click it, it checks for an update, rebuilds the copy if needed, restores the icon and opens the app with the profile’s data folder. There is no daemon.
A profile is just a name. Every path comes from it, so a third account works exactly like the second one.
It is unofficial and relies on how Claude Desktop reads its data and update settings, so a future release may break it. If that happens, there is one readable file to fix.
